Landmark – Finance Online Plus changes and PC security protection
Landmark has been investing in ways to help protect you from fraud.
As a result, the following changes to your Finance Online Plus internet transaction services apply immediately.
1. Change in daily limit
The default daily limit is now $20,000 – this limit applies to both external transfers and BPAY payments.
If you wish to apply for a higher limit, please complete the Finance Online Plus Limit Increase form (PDF 120 Kb) and return to your local Rural Finance Manager.
If you have previously registered for a higher daily limit, please review whether that limit is still necessary. If you wish to reduce your limit, please contact your Rural Finance Manager.
2. New Login procedure
During October 2008 your login screen, and the way in which you login, will change.
You will now be asked for further identification to validate your identity, including your date of birth each time you login to Finance Online Plus.
We also wish to remind you of the importance of keeping your private information (including login and password details) safe and secure on your PC. Your responsibilities are contained in the Finance Online Plus Terms and Conditions.
How to reduce the risk of fraud occurring through your PC
Landmark reminds customers not to risk PC security and to follow these steps to reduce your risk:
A. Only use a computer you know and trust – don’t use a public computer (e.g. internet cafes, libraries or hotels) for your internet banking.
B. Pause before responding to a suspicious email or website and never provide your password or PIN if asked.
C. Landmark will never ask you for your login, password or for your PIN.
D. Always logon to Finance Online Plus from the Landmark website.
E. Scam emails will ask you to click on a link to go to your bank’s or financier’s website – never click on these links as they generally take you to a replica website designed to obtain your login and password data.
F. Keep your anti-virus, firewall and spyware software, including operating system patches, up to date. There are a number of affordable software protection tools that help keep customers’ PCs safe from viruses and key stroke loggers, and from Trojan programs that make home PCs susceptible to online fraud.
